8 August 2009

We made it to the Olympic Stadium today to scope out where we want to film from. We have a pretty good spot where we are assigned to be and a really good spot if we can get to it without anyone telling us to move. We'll see how it goes on Saturday. That's when the meet begins.

The entrance to the stadium was interesting. Here are pictures of the main entrance, a photo taken before 1945. Finally, one zoomed in of what it looks like today. I'm not sure what the marks are where the swastika was. To me they looked like bullets had hit it, but I doubt that's the case.

The stadium photo was two photos that Photoshop merged for me. It is a very nice stadium. I think I'll be filming to the right on the far end of this photo.

We had a long team meeting today where all the athletes were introduced and the staff told us about interviewing and how to respond, drug testing, uniforms, representing the USA, and a lot of other things. The team photo was after the meeting. You might have trouble finding me. I'm way in the back.

After the team photo, we got a picture with all the Utah connections. There's just one more coming tomorrow (Coach Eyestone).
Lindsay ran the steeple at Weber State.
I still don't know how I ended up here.
Josh ran the steeple for BYU.
Dustin is a team athletic trainer here and is our track trainer at BYU.
Dustin's wonderful fiancee is with him. She will throw the shot and is one of my master's students.

I haven't figured out how to organize the pictures better, so you'll just have to look at it and figure it all out.
